Facilitating access to regulation for light Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)

Deadline

Doelstellingen

The overall objective of this Call for Proposals is to support existing Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups operating light civil Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), as well as potential entrepreneurs, by facilitating their access to applicable national and European law, including requirements and procedures. This goal will be reached through the development of a web portal, which will be the gateway to relevant information, practical guidance and interactive training tools.

Helping businesses understand the general context in which they can develop their RPAS operations in the Internal Market and get acquainted with relevant regulations and obligations is considered a key factor for the development of civil applications of light RPAS in Europe. By setting-up a sustainable awareness and training action focused on light RPAS, the European Commission aims at:

  • reduce illegal operations
  • improve safety,
  • better address privacy and data protection; and
  • unchain the market potential of civil applications of light RPAS.
