Belgian Ports and Industry Day
Joachim Coens, CEO of the Port of Zeebrugge, Alison Rose, British Ambassador to Belgium, and the UK Cross-Government Border Delivery Group would like to invite you to a Belgian Ports and Industry Day on the 22nd January 2019, between 10:30 and 16:15 at the Artes-Bruges-Cruise (ABC) Toren Cruise Terminal, Rederskaai 60, 8380 Zeebrugge.

The event will include the participation of Karen Wheeler, Director-General of the UK cross-government Border Delivery Group and over 25 officials from a range of UK Government departments. It will bring UK government officials together to an audience of EU industry representatives from the maritime and rail modes of transport, including Roll-on Roll-off supply chains, who use the crossings into UK ports from the Belgian ports of Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Oostende and Ghent.
The focus of the day will be on the preparation for the UK exit from the EU in relation to customs and other procedures, including the importation and exportation of food, live animals, animal products and feed, plants and equines. It will also cover Roll-on Roll-off specifics and the impact on the transport infrastructure around and beyond the border points.
The objectives of the day will be:
- For UK officials to share with industry the assumptions and expected changes to processes and procedures that may apply post EU-exit across the end-to- end supply chains;
- For industry representatives to share concerns and key operational issues with UK and Belgian industry;
- For the forum to address both Day-1 No-Deal and Deal scenarios to assist in future planning considerations;
- To provide an opportunity for a live Q&A session with senior UK government officials.
The agenda and directions to the venue accompany this invitation.
