Forum for the Future of Agriculture (FFA2019) - The next generation
Since 2008, the Forum for the Future of Agriculture (FFA) has contributed to the debate on agriculture and the environment. FFA2018 will again provide an open and inclusive setting to discuss the role of farmers, government, industry and citizens in ensuring that future farming models protect the environment and produce nutritious food that supports healthy lifestyles.

The 12th edition of the FFA will continue this tradition by focusing on ways to deliver sustainable farming and healthy food, meeting the many challenges that face us. This year’s FFA will devote specific attention to climate change, financing sustainability, consumer trends and reducing waste, how to preserve tradition and promote innovation, as well as considering what the next CAP reform means for current and future farmers. Overcoming these challenges now and in the future will require rebalancing between rural and urban areas, listening to consumers, adapting to swift changes in national and international politics and, above all, fulfilling the global promises made through the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.
Under the direction of FFA Chairman and former EU Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnick, FFA2019 will bring together high-level speakers from EU and international institutions, academia, civil society, non-governmental organisations, the farming world and business.
