Innovation in communication technology for the hearing impaired
Invitation to seminar – Hear me out
When? February 18th, 10.00-13.00.
Where? West Sweden EU Office, Rue du Luxembourg 3. 5th floorAccording the MRC Institute of Hearing research in UK there are 70 million hearing impaired men, women and children in Europe today. That number will rise to 90 million in Europe by 2015 and soar to 700 million people world-wide. Since there is no international sign-language and no countries have identical sign-languages, how do these people connect and communicate? This global problem now has a solution – communication technology through Spread the Sign. Inaugurated and endorsed by Her Majesty Queen Silvia Bernadotte of Sweden, Spread the Sign is the world’s largest lexicon for sign-language users with the potential of assisting hearing impaired world-wide.
