Wanneer? 19 januari 2010, 9.00u - 17.00u
Waar? EUREC Agentschap, Renewable Energy House, Aarlenstraat 63-65, Brussel
Wat?
This exploratory meeting will seek to elicit stakeholders views and identify coordinated perspectives and topic areas to be part of the Forum operations in 2010.
The European Re-Building Forum will be a physical platform to demonstrate the importance of an integrated approach and upgrade the capacity of public authorities and building professionals along the value chain of the building sector. This will enable them to mainstream successful “bottom up” initiatives and good practices to create a scale effect in retrofitting the existing EU building stock to best energy performance standards. It would further provide rigorous evidence based information, policy guidance and capacity building to steer decisions of both policy makers and stakeholders at EU and Member State level. The Forum aims to have duration of two years, produce a roadmap of actions to be taken at Member State and local level and set up 3 targeted working groups per year to address specific issues and stimulate pilot projects led by frontrunners with voluntary participation of relevant partner organizations.
This exploratory meeting will be divided in sessions to focus on three current priorities:
1. Implementation of EU buildings legislation at national level;
2. Ways and tools to finance retrofitting of buildings;
3. The role of environmental technologies for energy saving and energy generation in buildings.
Participants will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Places are limited, interested participants may register to the exploratory meeting by replying to: marco.torregrossa@epe.be [1] with their details to make sure a place is reserved for them. I am pleased to remind participation to the meeting is free of charge.
