Subsidies Child abduction alert (deadline: 17/6/09)

New call for proposals (child abduction alert) is open. The deadline for submission of applications is 17 June 2009.

Doelstellingen
The specific objectives of the pilot project are the following:
a) To set up child alert mechanisms in the Member States, i.e. enhance cooperation between competent national law enforcement authorities/ judiciary and enable different channels to help transmit alerts rapidly, e.g. TV and radio broadcasters and involve civil society where necessary;
b) To increase the compatibility and coordination of child alert schemes between the Member States;
c) To develop structures and procedures, with the aim of resolving cross-border cases of child abduction more efficiently.

Budget
The total amount allocated for co-financing projects under this Call for Proposals is €
1.000.000. A maximum funding rate of 80% of the total eligible costs can be applied for.

Wie mag indienen?
The proposals shall be submitted by possible or actual key actors in a child alert scheme:

  • law enforcement/ judicial authorities
  • non-governmental organisations with an agreement with the national authorities to handle cases of child abductions
  • public or private entities with an agreement with the national authorities to disseminate the alerts, such as press agencies, TV and radio broadcasters, traffic managers, transport companies, and internet service providers (for a list of entities, see the Commission Staff Working Document "Best practice for launching a crossborder child abduction alert" p. 5-6).
    The above mentioned groups from all 27 Member States of the EU are eligible for action
    grant funding.
