The EU’s agriculture and fisheries ministers met in Brussels on 7 September. Top of the agenda was the situation on the European milk market in the light of the Commission’s report on and analysis of the dairy market. The Council also discussed the situation on the feed market. The Commission informed the meeting about a report from the High Level Group on the Competitiveness of the Agro-Food Industry. The possibility of tabling an amendment to the regulation on the protection of animals during transport was also discussed.
