Bluestart Fibers are looking for Universities that undertake amongst others - market and life-cycle studies, research manufacturing techniques, hybrid structures, developing market sector specific design techniques and models, fibre blending and recycling methods/techniques and awareness. As well as this they are hoping to attract advanced composite centres of expertise where skills, equipment and resources exist or will exist that can support the development and testing of carbon fibre and advanced composite manufacturing techniques and any Companies or SME's with intellectual property, ideas, techniques, expertise and resources that could support the research and development activities in the areas outlined in the project.
This project will focus on the Automotive, Renewable Energy, Construction, Aerospace, Marine and Oil/Gas market sectors primarily. The project is aimed at developing technology associated with Automated Rapid Manufacturing Techniques, Carbon Fibre Improved Properties and Processing, Carbon Fibre Hybrid Blending and Preforms, Functional Composites and Structures. The aim of this is to add value with a sustainable low cost manufacturing and material costs for the identified market sectors :
- Recycling and Standards Development into Methods,
- Recovery,
- Blending,
- Sustainability,
- Life Cycle Analysis,
- Certification,
- Cost Reduction
