Het debat rond de toekomst van het cohesiebeleid gaat verder. Na de opinie rond de toekomst van het cohesiebeleid, werkt het Comité van de Regio's, op vraag van het toekomstige Belgische EU Voorzitterschap aan een advies rond de rol van cohesiebeleid in de implementatie van de nieuwe EU2020 strategie.
De rapporteur, Dr. Michael Schneider, lid van de COTER commissie van de CoR, komt naar Brussel om een presentatie te geven rond dat advies. Hij nodigt vertegenwoordigers van associaties van (boven)lokale en regionale besturen en andere stakeholders uit om ideeën uit te wisselen hieromtrent.
