SALTO-YOUTH is een netwerk van 8 Europese 'Resource Centres' die werken rond Europese prioriteien binnen het jeugdwerk.
Het 'SALTO-YOUTH Inclusion Resource Centre' organiseert van (17/) 18 - 20 oktober in Antwerpen haar conferentie "Bridges to Work".

SALTO Inclusion would like to invite Employers or Entrepreneurship Support Structures from your region to Bridges to Work.
Bridges to Work is a practical and inspirational European conference about youth employment & entrepreneurship – taking place 18-20 October 2011, Antwerp, Belgium (www.salto-youth.net/BridgesToWork/). It is organized by SALTO-Inclusion, an EU resource centre for young people with fewer opportunities.
The crisis hit young people hardest.

That’s why different European Programmes (and Bridges to Work) focus on improving young people’s chances on the labour market, especially for those young people with fewer opportunities. But in the discussions about getting young people into work, we should also consider the needs and views of those who offer jobs: the employers, job centres and entrepreneurship support agencies.

So join 125 other employers and staff, but also unemployed young people, from different European employment & entrepreneurship projects and programmes, to get inspired and take action to raise the employment prospects of young people on the labour market. (working language English). You can find the full programme online www.salto-youth.net/BridgesToWorkProgramme/ but let us highlight some sessions:

- Niall O’Higgins (University of Salermo, IZA and formerly ILO) will provide an analysis of the different obstacles to youth employment – and the differences across Europe.
- Madi Sharma (manager & Employers Group, European Social Economic Committee) draws conclusions from her start-up as business woman for entrepreneurship for young people.
- Ian Goldring (ProjectWorks consulting) researched various European employment projects and deducted principles for successful youth employment projects.
- Get inspired by project visits to public and private employment initiatives for young people in Antwerp.

But most of the discussions will be amongst participants to exchange about what your situations and solutions are (and also young people’s suggestions). You can present your approaches in the interactive working groups or at a stand at the Bridges to Work fair. Fresh ideas for your work back home guaranteed.

If you are interested to participate, you can apply online (via the link on www.salto-youth.net/BridgesJobSector) or simply let me know via bridges@salto-youth.net. We can cover your participation costs (lodging, food & participation) if you pay for your travel.
