Conference "Taking Care of Foster Care" - Louvain

Pleegzorg Vlaanderen vzw has the pleasure of inviting you to its conference: ‘Taking Care of Foster Care – New Ways and Challenges for Foster Care’, which will be held on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th of September 2010 and on the Academic Session on Saturday the 18th of September 2010  in Leuven, Belgium.

Please note that we already experience a large amount of interest for this conference, so we strongly recommend you to register as soon as possible. Registrations close Septembre 1st 2010.

You can always modify your choice of parallel plenary sessions and/or your workshops before this date by using your personal login and password.

By 1st May 2010 we will provide more information on the languages of the workshops.

The objective of this conference is to bring together a series of themes and questions related to foster care, for anyone involved in foster care: Foster Carers, service users, fostering networkers, governments and professionals from other services – both from Belgium and from abroad.

A mix of presentations will be offered during these days to appeal to all parties involved.
The different keynote speakers all have high respectability in our working field and will provide information on interesting topics such as
• The actual Reorganisation in Foster Care in Flanders
• Foster Care for disabled adults
• Foster Care in France
• The status of Kinship Care in Western Society
• The voice of the foster Child.
All plenary sessions will be translated in Dutch, French and English.

The workshops can be chosen from in different languages and will be an ideal forum for discussion and networking with colleagues from other countries. They cover a wide range of fields of activity:  Psychology, Methodology, Scientific Investigation, Foster Workers, Foster Children, Psychiatrics, Disabled Persons, Politics, etc. Please consult the program to find your workshop of interest.

As this conference is embedded in the Belgian EU presidency, European chairman Herman Van Rompuy will open the conference with a video message. Flemish minister of Welfare, Public Health and Family Jo Vandeurzen will close the conference with more information on future foster care in Flanders.

Are you a Foster Parent or a Client?
