The Resource Efficiency Alliance (an initiative of European Partners for the Environment) with the support of The Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spacial Planning and the Environment (VROM) cordially invites you to a workshop on 9 March 2010 in Brussels (preliminary agenda attached) on:

Chain Approach in Scarce Raw Materials and Waste
- The Case of Wood for Construction -

Date:    9 March 2010
Time:    09:00 - 17:00
Venue:  Hotel Silken Berlaymont - Boulevard Charlemagne 11 - 19 - 1000 Brussels

The workshop will aim to address the challenge of minimizing environmental pressure resulting from extraction, processing, use and disposal or recycling of wood for the construction sector. The workshop should focus on communication and cooperation between the various actors along the chain when searching for reduction of environmental pressure. The analysis to be done relates the production, consumption and disposal/recycling chain and how to identify possible interventions in the system to mobilize partners and create cooperation, possible control mechanisms and instruments.

Participants will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Places are limited to 30, interested parties have the opportunity to register for the workshop before 1 March 2010 by replying to: marco.torregrossa@epe.be with their details to make sure a place is reserved for them. I am pleased to remind participation to the workshop is free of charge.

Warmest Regards,
