Rotterdamse NGO zoekt partners voor Europa voor de burger-project "Moms in Art"

The organisation:

The organisation is called Culturall, a small NGO in the Netherlands, it was established in 2000. And has organised education and culture projects projects for a.o. childeren in poor neighbourhoods, and for unemployed (migrant) men and women to train them to find a job/guide them to the labor market, and also for migrant women who have been living for a long time in the Netherlands without integrating or hardly speaking the language (that was a project slighty comparable to the suggested EU project). It was very succesfull with good results for the women! That 's why we would like to do it this time within an European setting.

The project:

A project focussing on traditional living migrant women in European countries to (re)discover art and creativity, and to practice the language of the European country they migrated to, learn about it's culture and society, and by doing this help them to feel at home in Europe. Examples of art will be presented to a.o. illustrate themes discussed, including non-western art. After a 15 sessions training an exhibition shows the creative results. During the training, the women learn about European society, discuss, exchange personal experiences and learn creative skills. In community homes, women's centres and schools. Afterwards the groups are revisited to registrate personal developments, this will be filmed. Exchanges of teachers / trainers / artists, a publication / website are part of the project. Start: fall 2010, 12 months
