European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion (ESPON)
1. Call for Proposals for Targeted Analyses
Targeted Analyses, conducted under Priority 2 of the ESPON Programme, are defined by stakeholders. It is a new type of projects supporting the use of existing ESPON results in partnership with different groups of stakeholders, who will participate actively in the project implementation.
Targeted Analyses provide an opportunity to stakeholders for
(1) enhancing their understanding of the larger territorial context,
(2) making comparisons to other territories, regions and cities, and hereby
(3) providing a European perspective to considerations on the development of their territories.
The expertise needed to carry through the analyses is found by Calls for Proposals based on Project Specification developed by the involved stakeholders and ESPON in close collaboration.
Call for Proposals for two Targeted Analyses have been selected on the base of expression of interest from stakeholders. Each project proposal may address one of up to two different themes selected by the Monitoring Committee.
The Calls includes the following two themes:
- ADES / Airports as Drivers of Economic Success in Peripheral Regions
- AMCER / Advanced Monitoring and Coordination of EU R&D Policies at Regional Level
2. Call for Proposals within the ESPON Scientific Platform
The Scientific Platform, Priority 3 of the ESPON Programme, represents a core element in the knowledge base created by ESPON. Projects carried through shall contribute with solid facts and methodologies in support of quality evidence to the policy development processes. In addition, they shall contribute to the building of European datasets, indicators and tools that constitute a foundation for a scientific community in the field of European territorial science.
In support of the Scientific Platform a Call for Proposal for one project is open.
The theme of this project is:
ESPON Database Project phase II
Potential beneficiaries of this call are public and private bodies.
Het totale budget is 1.950.000 euro.
Budget Targeted Analyses
The available budget amounts to 650.000 € as indicated below and one single proposal can be selected for each of the 2 themes indicated.
ADES (Airports as Drivers of Economic Success in Peripheral Regions): 300,000.00 euro
AMCER (Advanced Monitoring and Coordination of EU R&D Policies at Regional Level: 350,000.00 euro
Budget ESPON Scientific Platform
The available budget for this call amounts to 1.300.000 € and one single proposal can be selected.
