Daphne 3: Prevent and combat violence against children, young people and women
Call priorities
- Street and peer violence - Identification of best practices, recommendations, education and campaigns involving young people on the issues of street violence, youth violence and related lifestyle issues such as drug and alcohol abuse and weapon-carrying.
- Media violence - Targeted educational programmes and activities designed to increase children, young people and/or women's understanding of the potentially negative impacts of new technologies and to educate them on risks and solutions with the aim to ensure their well being and safety.
- Corporal punishment of children - Awareness-raising and educational materials addressing the issue of corporal punishment of children in their homes and/or in institutional or quasi institutional settings throughout Europe.
- Capacity building of law enforcement agents and legal practitioners related to intimate partner violence - Training and exchange of experiences with the view of building the capacity of practitioners in the law enforcement, judicial and para-legal fields to assist women victims of intimate partner violence when in contact with the police or judicial system.
- Field work at grass-roots level with involvement of children, young people and/or women, in particular programmes that aim to empower them to protect themselves and their peers against violence. Such programmes might specifically include training, counselling, formal and informal support group mechanisms and innovative ideas for developing a protective environment for children, young people and women.
Projects require a minimum partnership of 2 organisations from different EU member states.
The project must be prepared by a partnership and involve at least two eligible organisations (minimum of one applicant plus one partner) from two different EU Member States. If the applicant/ partner is from an EFTA/EEA Member State, the project must involve in addition at least two eligible organisations from two different EU Member States.
Applicants and partners cooperate in the design and implementation of the action, must all be eligible for funding under this Programme, and will share the financial responsibility for the project.
Applicants and partners must comply with the following requirements:
Legal status: They must be legally constituted public or private organisations and institutions (non-governmental organisations, local authorities at the relevant level, university departments and research centres);
Origin: They are based in one of the 27 Member States of the European Union or the EFTA States that are parties to the EEA Agreement (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway- hereafter referred to as the "EEA Member States");
Non-profit: They are non-profit-making (bodies and organisations which are profitoriented shall have access to grants under the Programme only as partners if justified by the nature of the action).
With a budget of €28.990.560 this call for proposals for action grants aims to select projects falling under the objectives of the Daphne III programme and the call priorities.
Grants awarded under the call will range from € 75.000 to € 300.000 for 12-month projects and from € 150.000 to € 600.000 for 24-month projects, which may constitute a maximum of 80% of overall eligible project cost.
